John Erik Jonsson is the founder of Texas Instruments Incorporated, which was founded in 1930.
He served as Chairman of Tulane University, The Hockaday School, and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Inc. He was also a Director of Dallas Power & Light Co., Equitable Financial Life Insurance Co., The Conference Board, Inc., Academy for Educational Development, NationsBank Texas Corp., and a Trustee of Austin College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Skidmore College, the University of Dallas, and Southwest Research Institute.
He was a Member of American Management Association, National Academy of Engineering, Society of Exploration Geophysicists, The Philosophical Society of Texas, Excellence in Edu Foundation, and The Newcomen Society of the United States.
Dr. Jonsson received his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1922.
