Media ConglomeratesConsumer Services Founded in 1968 and for several years' part of the Hanson Group, Rollalong Hire was acquired by the Newman Family in 1999 and the Newship group ran the business until June of 2006. Rollalong Hire was acquired in June 2006 as a MBO, in an £11 million investment backed by Barclays Ventures. The deal was entirely funded by Barclays Ventures and the management of Rollalong Hire. In October of 2007 Bill Kellie took over as MD, working closely with John Brown the non exec chairman, ex-CEO and founder of Speedy Hire to continue the development of the business to deliver its agreed plans. The relationship with BV gives its the opportunity to expand and even in these challenging times it is seeing growth and still plan more depot openings. Rollalong Hire currently operates on a national basis across England from eight regional hire centers. Ringwood Wolverhampton Glasgow Cardiff Newcastle Dartford Mansfield Chertsey The business hires out a range of portable accommodation units to both the traditional construction market such as offices, secure stores, welfare units, toilets and classrooms to education, local authority and public utilities. The event division looks after national events such as Farnbrough Airshow to individual events with Offices, Hospitality units, Toilets. Whilst having national coverage Rollalong Hire prides itself on offering a very local service with local people working to the same objective at all times - customer solutions. Presently Rollalong Hire has a fleet of over 4,500 units and a customer base in excess of 1,800 clients. Broadly speaking the customer base centers around construction but has growing numbers of clients in the events and leisure industry, Government agencies and the corporate sector as it continues to invest in new equipment.
