Dr. Johannes Bersch is an Advanced Researcher at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
He has been at ZEW’s Research Department “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics” since December 2012.
Currently, he is mainly working on topics in entrepreneurial finance.
For example, he is investigating the role start-ups play in the decarbonisation process and the financing conditions they face in this context.
He studied economics at Heidelberg University, the University of Mannheim, as well as the University of Essex (UK).
In his studies he focused on industrial economics, econometrics, and finance.
In his dissertation at KU Leuven, finished successfully in March 2018, he investigated the role of bank relationships for firms.
