Prior to joining JER, David Merchant was a Partner with Cheyne Capital Management (UK) LLP.
In this capacity he was the head portfolio manager of the Cheyne Asset-Backed Fund, a European fund that invested primarily in real estate debt products in both commercial and residential real estate.
Before that he was an Executive Director with
Morgan Stanley where he served as the head of the real estate large loan group.
David Merchant holds an MA in law from Peterhouse, Cambridge University.
