In addition to his role at Northern Precious Metals, Mr. Lemire is presently financial advisor to the Montreal Police Pension Fund (Association de Bienfaisance et de Retraite des Policiers de la ville de Montréal) and to the Université du Québec à Montréal Pension Fund.
From 1972 to 1998, he was a financial advisor and portfolio manager for Canagex Inc., an investment management firm which he founded in 1972 and later sold in 1984 to a large financial institution.
At that time, assets under management amounted to $3 billion.
When Mr. Lemire retired from the firm in 1998 assets under management totalled $10 billion.
Previously, he was assistant treasurer and portfolio manager for Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada.
Mr. Lemire was, until May 2006, a director of ProMetic Life Sciences Inc., a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
He graduated in accounting and finance from Portland University.
