From 1995 to 2005 she was a Global Chairman of international law firm Baker McKenzie, Chicago, the United States.
From 2005 to 2007 she was a Minister of Trade of France and also a Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of France.
Later on, she was a Minister of Economy and Finance of France.
From 2011 to 2019 she was a Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C.
She received her graduate degree from University of Paris X Nanterre.
