Mr. van Loon joined Hovan Capital Management in November 2007.
Previously, he was a portfolio manager responsible for equity research and portfolio allocation for Quantitative BioEquities (BVI) Fund, Ltd. from 2004 through 2007.
Prior to 2004, he was focused on private and small cap public biotechnology companies at C.K.
Cooper & Co. where he served as Managing Director of Equity Research and Investment Banking.
From 2000 to 2002, he was an investment banking Associate in the Biotechnology Investment Banking Group of Banc of America Securities, LLC and prior to that he was an investment banking analyst for Fox-Pitt, Kelton Inc., a boutique equity research firm which is part of the Capital Management & Advisory Group of Swiss Reinsurance Company.
Mr. van Loon has a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (received in 1999).
