Most recently, Mr. Achenbach was a Principal of First Boston Asset Management Corporation (New York), a $3.5 billion fixed income oriented money management firm.
He was President of The Investment Centre, Inc. (Atlanta), the investment subsidiary of Nationale-Nederlanden N.V.
that managed over $2 billion in assets from the parent company's ten life and property/casualty insurance subsidiaries in North America.
Prior to this, he was executive vice president and chief investment officer of Manhattan Life Insurance Company (New York) and director of its annuity and GIC lines.
Mr. Achenbach began to work with LCM in 1981 when, as senior investment officer of Manhattan Life Insurance Company, he retained LCM to develop interest rate risk management strategies involving financial futures and options for the insurance company's asset/liability management program.
Mr. Achenbach received a B.A..
in history from Princeton University and a M.B.A. from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.
He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago and the Fixed Income Analysts Society.
Mr. Achenbach has been a frequent speaker on fixed income portfolio and asset/liability management.
