Josh Fredberg joined Insight Partners in 2021 as a Managing Director.
Prior to joining Insight, Mr. Fredberg served as a Senior Advisor at McKinsey and Company.
In this role, Mr. Fredberg consulted to McKinsey and client teams in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications practice on topics ranging including product management, customer success, subscription/SaaS transition, strategy, and software M&A.
Mr. Fredberg served as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Products at software company Aspen Technology where he was responsible for all product directions and global Marketing.
There he expanded the scope of the portfolio from engineering simulation and manufacturing/supply chain to the full lifecycle, including asset performance management, focused on predictive maintenance.
Prior to Aspen Tech, he led the Product Strategy and Marketing teams at the engineering simulation software company ANSYS where the company grew from under $500M to over $1B in revenue.
Prior to ANSYS, Mr. Fredberg was the Senior Vice President of Product and Market Strategy at PTC.
Mr. Fredberg has written several papers on the topic of industry best practices in product development including ones in the Process Industry, Automotive, Industrial Products, and High Tech.
He has spoken at several software industry conferences on the topics of product development strategy and best practices and supply chain optimization.
Mr. Fredberg attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business where he earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance.
He also received a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from Penn.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.
Josh lives in Boston with his wife and two teenage daughters.
