Profil
Prior to joining Mitsui, Mr. Hagiwara has served in marketing, sales, engineering, business development, and operations.
He also has management experience through his service as vice president of Mitsui’s telephone distribution subsidiary, and as vice president of Mitsui Comtek Corp.
His past investment involvements include Tessera (micro BGA IC packaging) and ADTX (a data storage company in Japan), both of which became public companies.
He has contributed to the success of these companies by introducing key components suppliers and overseas prospects for technology license/ OEM with assistance from Mitsui offices around the world.
In the late 1990s, he spearheaded the development of a mobile internet gateway system for a major Japanese cellular carrier and the promotion of Mitsui’s successful mobile content service into the U.S.
and Europe.
In the early 1990s, he created & trained Mitsui’s global sales, marketing & support network, which at one point had 50 percent market share of color STN LCD displays used in notebook computers sold in the United States.
Mr. Hagiwara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
