While studying in Kherson State Technical University Mr. Roman Vodolazskiy already held the position of Chief Accountant in several Ukrainian Companies.
After graduation he worked in the Financial Department of MacDonald’s Ukraine, and later in the Audit Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Kiev.
The last position he held at PricewaterhouseCoopers before leaving the company in 2002 was Senior Auditor.
After leaving PricewaterhouseCoopers Mr. Roman Vodolazskiy joined SCM as a manager of metallurgical division where he was responsible for SCM’s metallurgical sector He participated in strategy development; evaluated capital investment plans and various strategic options of steel plants; monitored operating performance improvement programs; and was responsible for setting up management reporting system in the steel division of the Group.
In February 2005 he was promoted to Senior Financial Manager and in June 2005 the name of the position was changed to Chief Financial Officer.
His main goals were to establish and head up the Finance Department of SCM holding company and to centralize some core finance functions: budgeting, reporting, treasury and internal audit.
Under his supervision SCM already enjoyed good audit history and established its name on international borrowing marketplace with the first syndicated loan for SCM holding company.
