Mr. Vickery has a proven record of leadership in both professional and civic capacities.
Currently, he serves on the IMT Insurance Board of Directors where he has been an active member since 1965.
Mr. Vickery was elected Vice President and Secretary of IMT in 1961, Executive Vice President and Secretary in 1983, President in 1988 and Chairman of the Board in 1994.
Mr. Vickery has served in the national property and casualty insurance industry as a board member including a term as President of the Conference of Casualty Insurance Companies and was a board member of the Property Loss Research Bureau.
Also, he has been a Director of the Alliance of American Insurance Communicators of America, and President of the Professional Insurance Communicators of America.
Mr. Vickery is recipient of numerous awards for writing, advertising, sales promotion, public relations-marketing techniques in the property/casualty insurance industry.
Over the past few years, Mr. Vickery has served on several community service boards, including a term as President of Youth Homes of Mid-America Foundation and board member of Hospice of Central Iowa Foundation, Living History Farms Foundation and Friends of the Des Moines Public Library.
Mr. Vickery has served as President on the Des Moines Symphony and Better Business Bureau boards.
Presently, he is a board member of Salisbury House Foundation, Wesley Retirement Services, Friends of Drake Fine Arts, Planned Parenthood of Iowa Foundation and is on the Community Advisory Board of the Junior League of Des Moines.
Mr. Vickery attended Grinnell College and received a B.A.
from the University of Iowa in 1953.
