HSBC-PBS was incorporated in 2001 as HSBC's private banking operations were undergoing reorganization. The bank was previously known as HSBC Republic Bank (Suisse) and originated in 1999. In 2009 the firm absorbed the activities of HSBC Guyerzeller Bank SA. HSBC-PBS is headquartered in Geneva with domestic branches in Lugano and Zurich as well as a seasonal office in St Moritz.
