Mr. Sochol graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1982 with a B.S.
in management science, with honors, and an M.S.
in industrial administration.
After working at PNC Financial and Mellon Bank, Mr. Sochol joined Parker/Hunter, a regional broker/dealer, as an equity analyst and was named research director a year later.
In 1992, Mr. Sochol joined Legg Mason in Baltimore as an equity analyst and became Managing Director in 1997.
Mr. Sochol joined Pequot Capital in early 2002, a hedge fund in New York, as an analyst and portfolio manager responsible for the financial services sector for the Core Fund.
Three years later, in February 2005, Mr. Sochol joined Baron Capital to cover financial services companies, including banks, insurance and specialty finance.
