Vostok's investment activities are carried out in the international arena through Bermudan, Cypriot and Swedish group entities. Managing the group's interest in Gazprom became the main purpose of Vostok in 2007. The company owns close to one and a half percent of the Gazprom shares. Gazprom controls a significant part of the world's known gas reserves. Vostok's non-Gazprom assets were spun off into a Bermuda-domiciled company known as Vostok Nafta Investment Ltd., also part of the Vostok Nafta Group.
