Mr. Todor V.
Georgiev is Founder at Thracian Capital Management SEZC, a hedge fund consultancy company.
Before that he was the CEO of Thracian Capital (Singapore), a “tail risk hedging” asset manager and advisory, one of the first in its field, and before that he was the founding partner and Chief Investment Officer of Thracian Capital LLP, a UK hedge fund manager, backed and seeded by Man Group, the world’s leading hedge fund group.
Mr. Georgiev managed the Winchester Fund Limited, a managed account for Man Group, which focused on capital structure and volatility arbitrage, beating all relevant hedge fund benchmarks during its period of existence.
Prior to Thracian Capital LLP, Mr. Georgiev was a senior portfolio manager at State Street Global Advisors, where he launched and managed the SSgA CM Capital Structure Arbitrage Fund (looking for mispricings between corporate bonds, credit default swaps, convertible bonds, variance swaps, equity options, equities).
The Fund had a global focus and outperformed all relevant hedge fund benchmarks during its period of existence.
Prior to joining State Street, Mr. Georgiev co-managed the US convertible arbitrage portfolio at KBC Alternative Investment Management– one of the world’s largest convertible bond arbitrage portfolios.
He started his hedge fund career at some of the world’s most preeminent hedge funds, such as Highbridge Capital and Elliott Associates.
Mr. Georgiev holds a B.A.
in Economics with a minor in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
