Profil

Prior to joining Kips Bay Partners, Mr. Mathison was a founding team member and Principal with Baird Venture Partners (“BVP”), concentrating his efforts on investment opportunities in the healthcare and life sciences sector.
In January 2002, Mr. Mathison established BVP’s office in Madison, Wisconsin, further developing Baird’s network throughout the state.
He has served as a member of the board of directors for the Wisconsin Technology Council, Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association and the Medical College of Wisconsin Research Foundation’s Division of Marketing and Licensing.
He had portfolio management responsibilities and board participation for Celleration, Inc., Centerre Healthcare Corporation, NetRegulus, Inc., PharMEDium Healthcare Corporation and TomoTherapy, Inc. Mr. Mathison served on the investment team for Aptus Endosystems Inc., Arbor Surgical Technologies, Inc., Caden Biosciences, Inc., CoAxia, Inc. and NimbleGen Systems, Inc. He also served as a limited partner representative on the Investment Advisory Committee for Venture Investors Early Stage Funds III and IV.
Prior to joining BVP, Mr. Mathison was an Associate in Baird’s Investment Banking Group where he worked on a variety of equity offerings and merger and acquisition transactions.
He received a BIS in Finance and Economics from the University of Minnesota and a MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
