Before that, he was Executive Vice President of Refining and Marketing for MG Refining & Marketing from 1989 to 1995.
Prior to that, he served in key management positions with Transworld Oil, Valero Energy, Kaiser Aluminum, Jerico Petroleum, La Jet and Gulf Oil Corporation.
He received a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
