Dr. Robert Mahlstedt is a Visiting Research Fellow at Forschungsinstitut zur Zukunft der Arbeit GmbH.

His current work focuses on the relevance of psychological motives and behavioral economic concepts for the job search behavior of unemployed workers and subsequent labor market outcomes.
He was a Resident Research Affiliate at IZA from 2012 until April 2017.
He became a Research Affiliate in May 2017 and a Visiting Research Fellow in February 2021.
He completed his Ph.D.
at the University of Potsdam in 2017.
