Prior to joining Compass Point Research & Trading, Mr. Schwartzberg was a Managing Director and Partner at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey &Co., Inc. where he played a key role in a variety of capital raising engagements in the financial services sectors at all levels of the capital structure.
Mr. Schwartzberg initially joined Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc. as one of the first investment bankers and was instrumental in building the firm’s growing practice of recapitalizing distressed thrifts, REITs and home-builders.
He then founded the firm’s REIT and Specialty Finance research groups.
Prior to joining Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc., Mr. Schwartzberg was a thrift analyst at Johnston, Lemon & Co. He serves on the Advisory Boards of Harvest Bank of Maryland and Pinecreek Partners as well as the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

in Finance from Georgetown University and earned his M.B.A.
from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
