Marc Chevrel is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure and a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Paris, and holds a degree in mathematics.
In 1998, he joined DRIRE Nord Pas de Calais as head of the Industrial Environment division, before joining in September 2001 the French Energy Regulation Commission as head of the Electricity Markets Department.
Since 1st january 2005, he is Deputy Senior Vice President of Strategy at AREVA and Senior Vice President of Strategy at COGEMA.
