Mr. Jeffrey C.
Smith, CFA, is a Chief Investment Officer at Peak Financial Management, Inc. He leads the development and implementation of Peak’s four model portfolios derived through a quantitative approach called Optimization.
He heads the firm’s Investment Policy Committee which helps determine how macro-economic and market events may affect certain investments held on behalf of clients.
Also, he works with Peak’s research staff to uncover investment opportunities and incorporate them into the firm’s disciplined, long term investment approach.
Additionally, he collaborates closely with Peak’s Wealth Advisors to ensure that each client’s portfolio is closely aligned with their goals and risk tolerance as defined by their financial plan.
He has been a professional in the financial services industry for over 15 years.
Before joining Peak Financial Management, he worked at Wellesley Investment Partners, a subsidiary of Wellesley Bank, as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to that role, he was a Portfolio Manager and Analyst with Beaumont Financial Partners, a billion dollar investment firm also located in Wellesley.
His early career at Fidelity included roles as a retirement and investment consultant in both the institutional and retail space, advising and guiding clients in the selection of investment products to meet personalized objectives.
He is a CFA Charterholder and a personal finance professor at Babson College.
He received his Master’s Degree in Investment Management from Boston University.
