Prior to joining Portage, Mr. Crouthamel was founder and CEO of Performics, and is one of the most respected online marketing experts in the US.
Crouthamel incubated Performics in 1998 in the DFJ Portage offices and drove its dramatic growth through to its acquisition by DoubleClick in June 2004.
Performics was named several times as one of the fastest-growing companies in the nation by Deloitte & Touche and was the fastest-growing technology company in Chicagoland in 2004.
Mr. Crouthamel was awarded Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Information Technology in 2004 and was named to Crain's Chicago business ‘40 Under 40’ list.
He has been named one of the ˜Top 100 most influential people in technology in the Midwest.
Crouthamel is regarded as an industry thought leader and is a frequent speaker in online marketing, with extensive expertise in affiliate marketing, search engine marketing, performance-based marketing, eCommerce and online advertising.
Mr. Crouthamel earned an MBA degree from Northwestern University's J.L.
Kellogg Graduate School of Management, a Master of Manufacturing Management from Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering and completed his undergraduate studies at Drexel University
