He previously held positions as a Director at First South Bancorp, Inc. (North Carolina), Vanderbilt University Medical Center, American Health Care Association, and The Tennessee Bankers Association.
He was also the President of First Union Corp.
from 1975 to 2005.
Mr. Ayers received his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis.
