Mr. Geir Axelsen is a Director General at Statistics Norway.
Prior to joining Statistics Norway, he was a Deputy Director General and Director of Finance & Governance at the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV).
He has previously held the role of Vice Director in two different units in Statoil, and has served as Secretary of State at the Norwegian Ministry of Finance and as Assistant Director General of the Norwegian Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Axelsen holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Oslo, as well as a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University's John F.
Kennedy School of Government.
