Mr. Eric B.
Baggesen, CFA MBA, is a Managing Investment Director at The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
He joined the firm in November 2004.
He is responsible for planning and implementing the strategic asset allocation of the Fund's investment assets, as well as monitoring the investment risk from asset allocation exposures and guiding our Investment Compliance and Operational Risk program.
These activities are carried out by a 22-member internal CalPERS team, along with external consultants and advisors.
Prior to becoming managing investment director, Mr. Baggesen held a number of other leadership roles with the CalPERS Investment Office, including senior investment officer, senior investment officer of global equity, and senior portfolio manager for internally managed equity strategies.
In the past, he has provided executive leadership as CalPERS' interim chief investment officer.
He earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Rhode Island.
He holds a designation as Chartered Financial Analyst and earned a Charter in Alternative Investments.
