Subsequently he became a Vice President and senior member of the Strategic Planning Group at CIBC World Markets.
There he played an integral part in the development of the banks loan portfolio management division as well as the banks acquisition and integration of Oppenheimer & Co. in 1997.
He then left CIBC to become Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Adirondack Trading Partners, which was a start up venture formed to capitalize on electronic trading technology.
The company was the corporate founder of the International Securities Exchange, now the largest equity options exchange in the U.S., which had its IPO in 2005.
In 2006, he was named Chief Financial Officer of Van Der Moolen Specialists, one of only 7 specialist firms on floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where he oversaw the financials of over $500 million in assets.
Mr. Martel currently serves on the Board of Directors of his local Little League chapter.

in Government and Computer Science from Hamilton College and a M.B.A.
in Finance from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management.
