As President and founder of Axios Advisors, LLC, Mr. Nguyen launched the first-ever independent research service for municipal bonds.
He published extensively on the relative valuation of fixed-income securities, and introduced an active high yield tax-exempt strategy.
Before that, Mr. Nguyen managed and researched high yield corporate bonds at John Hancock Investments.
Prior to joining Hancock, Mr. Nguyen spent 13 years as Senior Portfolio Manager at Putnam Investments.
His portfolio responsibilities encompassed many Four and Five Star Funds (as rated by Morningstar).
Mr. Nguyen conceived, designed and managed many leveraged closed-end funds for Putnam, including: Putnam High Yield Municipal Trust, Putnam Municipal Opportunities Fund and Putnam Managed Municipal Fund, among others.
Mr. Nguyen holds an MBA Degree in Finance and Accounting and a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago.
