Ton Berendsen studied information at Technical College and subsequently took a Master’s degree in business administration sciences and completed several postdoctoral studies.
Before joining ABP he was managing partner and director in the management consultancy industry.
He started his career as a professional military officer and later became a senior consultant for, among other organizations, KPMG and held the position of managing partner and director at Twijnstra Gudde.
In 1999 he entered the service of ABP.
He became director of Business Development for ABP and PGGM.
In 2000 he became a member of the Board of ABP Investments, with responsibility for the supervision of business management.
Further, Ton Berendsen is an academic visiting lecturer in the fields of psychology of change and strategy of financial sector.
