Profil

Mr. Hirschfeld joined Halcyon in April 2005.
He was previously Managing Director of J.
& W.
Seligman & Co., a $20 billion asset management firm, where he served both as Chief Operating Officer for Investments and as Head of Venture Capital.
Earlier, Mr. Hirschfeld spent six years as a Partner at Patricof & Co. Ventures (now Apax Partners) and eight years in investment banking at Salomon Brothers (now Citigroup).
Mr. Hirschfeld was founding Chairman of the Senior Executives Group within the Asset Managers Forum, an industry standards, education and advocacy group.
He also served as Assistant to Mayor Rudolph Giuliani during the mayor’s first year in office, handling special projects and leading the city’s Economic Policy and Marketing Group.
Finally, he is the author of three nonfiction books totaling over 1.5 million copies in print.
In 1986, Mr. Hirschfeld received his graduate degree in Economics and Politics from Balliol College, Oxford University, on a Marshall Scholarship.
He received his A.B.
from Harvard College in 1984.
