Cowley is an Investment Director at Old Mutual Global Investors (UK) Ltd.

Prior to Newton, he was a Joint Chief Investment Officer & Head of Global Fixed Interest at Hill Samuel Asset Management from 1995 to 1998, having previously been Head of Global Fixed Interest at Invesco Asset Management from 1993 to 1995.
He began his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1987 as a Fixed Income Sales Trader, before switching to fund management.
Dr. Cowley obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Manchester University in 1982 and a Doctor of Philosphy degree in Physics from Oxford University in 1987.
He is a Member of the Securities Institute.
