Dr. Rudolf Lörtscher is a Senior Relationship Manager, of Key Clients at Swiss Rock Asset Management AG.
He is responsible for the Key Client Advisory.
He also teaches portfolio management in the School of Business at the University of Applied Sciences, Northwestern Switzerland.
He is a Key Account Manager.
He started his career working on economic, structural, and regional problems at the KOF Swiss Economic Institute (part of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) and at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
In the mid-1980s, he moved into banking and took up a post as Director of Quantitative Investment Research and Deputy Head of the Financial Analysis department with the former Swiss Bank Corporation.
In this position, he launched and managed several investment funds (including the first index fund for Swiss equities) and introduced a comprehensive risk control system for the Swiss Bank Corporation’s equity funds.
In 1992, he joined Switzerland’s Cantonal Bank Group, where he initially ran the Prevista investment foundation before going on to set up Swisscanto Portfolio Management in the position of CEO.
In 1998, he joined a boutique investment firm as a partner and CEO.
In 1999, following the sale of the firm, he moved to UBS Global Asset Management as Managing Director with responsibility for Business Development and Client Relationship Management.
Dr. Lörtscher studied economics at the University of Zurich.
