The firm was formed in 1970 as Analytic Investment Management. In 1985, the firm was purchased by United Asset Management (UAM). At that time, Analytic Investors became a wholly-owned subsidiary of UAM. Analytic acquired TSA Capital Management and later changed their name to Analytic Investors, Inc.
