Mr. Sarmiento is a Advisory Council Member of Kairos Capital.
He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Everything But Water, the largest independent specialty retailer of women's contemporary swimwear in the U.S.
Mr. Sarmiento joined Everything But Water in 2006 at the request of the private equity firm which controls the company.
Prior to joining Everything But Water, Mr. Sarmiento served as Senior Vice President of White House of Chico's Fas Inc., and President of The White House Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chico's FAS Inc. Mr. Sarmiento was the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The White House, Inc. a woman’s apparel retailer.
Beginning with one store in 1985, Mr. Sarmiento developed two innovative store concepts, White House and Black Market, each focused primarily on store named colors.
By 2002, The White House Inc. had 95 stores and over $65 million in sales, with most of its stores producing revenues per square foot significantly higher than most woman’s apparel chains.
The White House, Inc. filed for an initial public offering in 2003, but in September of that year the company was acquired by Chico's Fas Inc.Prior to founding White House Inc., He worked for the Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Mr. Sarmiento received a B.A.
from the University of Kansas.
