He also served on the board at The Empire Life Insurance Co., Historica Canada and The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Co.
Mr. Rooney received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1977 and his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 1981.
He obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1987 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984.
In 2009, he was honored by his peers and received the designation of Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
He is also a member of CFA Institute, Toronto CFA Society and CPA Ontario.
