Norihito Tambo is currently the President of Hokkaido Research Organization since 2010.
Prior to this, he was the Director of Historical Museum of Hokkaido from 2007 to 2010.
He also served as an Auditor at Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. and as a Professor-Research & Development Initiatives at Chuo University from 2007 to 2010.
In addition, he was the President of Hokkaido University in 1995 and the President of Open University of Japan from 2001 to 2007.
