Mr. Klein founded MIBEK Corporation in 1989, a developer of financial analysis and modeling software, which was acquired in 1992.
Mr. Klein then founded Transoft Networks, a leading supplier of storage area networking software, which was acquired by Hewlett Packard in May of 1999.
In October of 1999 Mr. Klein became the President and CEO of eGroups, Inc., the world's largest group email communication service with over 25 million active customers.
In August 2000, Yahoo! acquired eGroups for $450 Million.
eGroups is now known as Yahoo! Groups and serves over 50 million users globally.
Mr. Klein graduated from UCSB in 1988 at the age of 17.
He later earned an MBA at Pepperdine University and a law degree at the Santa Barbara College of Law while successively running four companies and serving on the boards of numerous others.
Mr. Klein's companies and accomplishments have garnered him numerous industry awards and recognition, such as the California State Legislature's Entrepreneur of the Year distinction; the South Coast Business & Technology Entrepreneur of the Year award; and places in Inc. magazine's Inc. 500, Software magazine's Software 500, and Deloitte & Touche's prestigious Fast 50.
Most recently Mr. Klein was the commencement speaker at UCSB's College of Engineering and Science graduation, and was honored as a Pepperdine University distinguished alumni.
