Mr. Lay has years of investment experience.
Prior to founding MDL, Mr. Lay worked as an account executive at Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. Mr. Lay was also Vice President in foreign exchange trading at Citicorp Investment Bank, responsible for hedging portfolios using government bonds, futures and commodities.
He appears regularly on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Black Enterprise magazine, Time magazine, Forbes magazine, as well as a guest speaker for such groups as International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the National Association of Securities Professionals, and The Fixed Income Summit.
Mr. Lay is an active member in the Western Pennsylvania community and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, Pennsylvania Economy League, Urban League of Pittsburgh, NEED, Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern PA, Manchester Youth Development Center and the Beaver County Head Start program.
He is also a member of the Board of Visitors Howard University School of Business.
Mr. Lay holds a B.A.
degree in Economics from Columbia University.
Mr. Lay was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Western Pennsylvania, as well as being featured on the cover of Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the "Top 50 African Americans on Wall Street."
