Mr. Rowland has held a variety of portfolio management and trading positions with a primary focus on MBS and structured finance securities.
Prior to co-founding Surge he served as Executive Officer and Portfolio Manager for Fund America Management.
While there he was responsible for the design and implementation of the operational, trading, portfolio management and surveillance functions for their CDO platform.
He also acted as Portfolio Manager for two mezzanine and one high grade ABS CDO transaction.
Other portfolio responsibilities include oversight of a $4 billion residual MBS portfolio.
He began his career at Vining Sparks where he spent seven years as MBS/ABS trader and salesman.
Mr. Rowland also spent time at Phoenix Capital where he was part of a team that transacted $25bln annually of mortgage servicing rights.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from San Jose State University.
