Mr. Luppes joined the Tate & Lyle Group in February 1996 as President and CEO of A.E.
Staley.
He was subsequently appointed Group President, Operations.
He began his professional life in 1972 when he joined Cargill as a Production Engineer Trainee.
He held a variety of positions in engineering and operations during his 20+ years with Cargill, including Director of Engineering and Operations for corn wet milling.
Prior to leaving, he was seconded to Cargill's Poultry Group to build a major poultry processing plant.
On leaving Cargill he became President and CEO of Southern Minnesota Sugar before joining Tate & Lyle.
