Dr. Julian P.
York is Portfolio Manager & Senior Analyst at HSBC Global Asset Management (UK) Ltd.
He joined HSBC Investments in March 2007 as a Senior Research Analyst & Portfolio Manager within the Fixed Income team, specialising in Global Government & High Yield bonds.
Dr. York is Head of the Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG) and is also an Investment Manager on several Multimanager funds.
He has over 11 years experience in the investment industry.
Before joining HSBC, he was Head of Quantitative Analysis / Systems at Investment Manager Selection Ltd, and prior to that, Head of Portfolio Analysis at MM Asset Management, an institutional multimanager company, where he undertook Qualitative and Quantitative analysis.
Dr. York was also in charge of the management and operation of MM's Dublin based OEIC's.
He started his career at Punter Southall & Co as a Consultant whose main responsibilities were Investment & Pensions consulting as well as portfolio construction and investment manager research.
Dr. York holds a PhD in Algebra and Logic from the University of Birmingham, a Master of Science (with distinction) in Pure Mathematics from Liverpool University and a Master of Arts in Mathematics from Oxford University.
He also has a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute of Actuaries, and holds the IMC of UKSIP.
