Prior to joining Updata Partners in 2009, Mr. Ballen founded a specialty finance venture, SigmaPoints that offers alternative credit options to individuals.
Prior to this, he was an Associate in the Growth Equity division of Kayne Anderson Private Investors, where he was responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company M&A activity.
Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 2006, Mr. Ballen worked in the Wealth Management Division of Klingenstein Fields & Co. and the real estate investment division of Besen & Associates.
Mr. Ballen graduated magna cum laude from the AB Freeman School of Business at Tulane University with a BS in Finance and Management.
