Before joining Bridgewater, he was Managing Director and held the roles of Global Head of Equity Electronic Trading and Global Head of Execution Product Development at Deutsche Bank.
He was responsible for all aspects of the electronic trading business, which spanned the Americas, Europe, and Asia and included over 640 employees involved in sales and marketing, trading and coverage, product development, operations, and technology.
He also served roles in trading and statistical arbitrage at Credit Suisse, Hull Trading (Goldman Sachs), and Morgan Stanley.
Dr. Marques’ academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of California.
