Mr. Grant Watson is a Chief Investment Officer at Old Mutual Customised Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
He is involved in driving the boutique investment process, overseeing, the development and implementation of the boutique’s strategies.
He manages various portfolios across the hedge fund; equity (local and global); and multi asset class range.
He has over 25 years of financial markets experience encompassing managing currency, derivative, hedge fund and multi asset class portfolios.
Mr. Watson began his career in the currency markets, trading currency derivatives on a proprietary basis for one of the large South African banks.
He is a qualified stockbroker and was a co-founder of one of the first hedge funds in South Africa in 1997.
He joined Futuregrowth Asset Management in 2004.
He headed up their Alternative Investments business.
Futuregrowth was acquired by Old Mutual Investment Group in 2008.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of South Africa, a Masters of Commerce degree from University of Cape Town, and an MBA.
He is a non-practicing Certified Stockbroker (SA).
