They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of GWA LLC. The firm is an affiliate of George Weiss Associates, Inc. (GWAI), formerly a SEC and NASD registered broker/dealer which was founded by George A. Weiss in 1978. GWAI was reorganized in 2005 and Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers LLC was formed as the investment advisory entity which would manage GWAI?s private investment funds, managed accounts and proprietary capital. Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers provides discretionary investment advisory services to private investment funds, registered investment companies, separately managed accounts for institutional investors, charitable organizations and entities affiliated with the firm.

NSI provides securities brokerage services, as well as asset management, domestic retail, global markets, global investment banking and global merchant banking services. The firm's fixed-income business consists of bond sales and trading, origination and product supply for securitization deals and real estate-focused asset finance operations (in cooperation with Investment Banking). In the equity markets, NSI offers sales and trading of domestic and foreign stocks on a global basis, primarily for institutional investors.
