Mr. Freitag is the former Chief Corporate Counsel of MCI.
Mr. Freitag played a leading role in every significant transaction during MCI's growth from a start-up to a $20 billion corporation.
Mr. Freitag managed general corporate, M&A, securities, and financing and led merger teams for MCI's proposed mergers with British Telecom.
In addition, Mr. Freitag oversaw the acquisitions of TelecomUSA, SHL, and Nationwide Cellular.
Additionally, Mr. Freitag structured, negotiated, and supported complex investments and joint ventures.
These included investment interests in telecommunications entities (such as Embratel in Brazil, AAPT in Australia, and Clear Communications in New Zealand) and joint ventures with Stentor (a network of Canadian provincial telephone companies), British Telecom (Concert) and News Corp (Direct Broadcast Satellite venture).
Mr. Freitag received his BA from Princeton University and graduated from Columbia Law School.
