Dr. David Wartenweiler is a Group Chief Investment Officer at Habib Bank AG, Zürich.
He has extensive experience in the financial industry.
He started his career in 1995, when he worked for the World Economic Forum, in Geneva, Switzerland.
There, he mainly focused on developing activities and membership in Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia.
In 1999, he successfully changed his career path by crossing over industry lines and joining Exane, a leading French brokerage in Geneva, Switzerland, as an Investment Strategist for Eastern Europe.
In 2001, he joined Bank Julius Baer in Zurich.
Switzerland, as an Investment Consultant in its investment funds subsidiary and later, became a member of the asset allocation team of Julius Baer Asset Management.
In 2004, he joined the team of the Group Chief Economist, focusing initially on Asia.
From 2005 he worked as a Senior Economist with responsibilities for emerging markets.
In this capacity, he advised both investment and relationship managers.
Dr. Wartenweiler holds a doctorate in modern history from the University of Oxford, Great Britain, and a Bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
He is a Certified CFA Charter holder.
