Dr. Simon Reif is a Head of Research Group at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH.
He is a health economist and has been head of the Research Group “Health Care Markets and Health Policy” at ZEW Mannheim since January 2021.
His research interests are behavioural economic and institutional factors influencing the provision of medical services as well as determinants of individual health.
His current research projects deal with strategies for the evaluation of digital health applications and the design of hospital payment systems.
Dr. Reif was previously employed as a Researcher by RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V.
He also worked as a policy and start-up consultant.
He studied economics and sociology at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, the University of Hull, UK, and LMU Munich.
