Senior Associate Modassir S.
Choudhry, M.D.
joined the firm’s life sciences practice 2006 as a senior associate based in Munich.
He will be involved in deal origination and the evaluation of new investments as well as research and support for existing portfolio companies with an emphasis on clinical applicability of research concepts.
Modassir brings clinical insight and experience in the fields of cardiovascular disease, trauma and critical care as well as oncology.
Modassir is a board-certified surgeon and completed his cardiothoracic surgery training at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School.
Prior to this, he trained in general, trauma, and cancer surgery at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
He further acted as an advisor and consultant to venture capital and hedge funds in their private and public investments in the life sciences during this time.
A recipient of a National Cancer Institute research fellowship, he performed basic science and clinical research at Sloan Kettering and the Rockefeller Institute.
He is also the author of multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Modassir received a joint BA/MD degree from Brown University School of Medicine in which students are accepted directly into medical school from high school.
He was the recipient of the Dean’s Prize for the student finishing first in the class and graduated summa cum laude.
He is fluent in English, French, Arabic, and Hindi.
