Mr. Hurd joined Emerson in 2003.
He is a retired Managing Director of Russell Reynolds Associates, a highly regarded worldwide Executive Search and Executive Assessment firm.
He ran their Boston office for more than ten years as well as holding other leadership roles during his twenty-two year tenure with the firm.
These included Practice leader for its Asset and Wealth Management recruiting activities in the Americas and he also was on the firm's Pension Committee for many years.
Before joining Russell Reynolds, he was a commercial banker in New York City and New England for twenty years.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hurd has been a member of numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards including an overseer of the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Partners Healthcare and The Huntington Theatre Company in Boston.
He continues to be involved in a number of not-for-profit organizations, including the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and provides consultancy to a variety of corporate Boards.
Mr. Hurd is a graduate of Hobart College and Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
He resides in Vero Beach, Florida and Southport, Maine.
